Education has never been as important as it is today, especially given the number of new jobs which require additional post-secondary education or training. In 2022 Texas ranked 45th for overall child well-being.
Students, families, and communities in the North Texas area and beyond face many challenges when it comes to college. Applications, financial assistance, and familiar education/ motivation are all of the areas where my recruitment for undergraduates reached communities.

Mentoring Others
Leadership and instruction also comes from empowering others and I took full responsiveness when executing plans alongside my team of G-Force mentors. I ensured to have both high Emotional Quotient (EQ) and Attitude Quotient (AQ) when guiding my team on student assistance strategies and planning. I ensured we were all confident in our skills and specialties when assisting students and providing a safe space for all questions and sensitive topics about students futures, education, and financial planning. I ensured well composed attention, assistance, and empathy would be delivered within the many potential experiences of connecting to the North Texas community.
Training and Collaborations
Providing resources and being a team lead to outreach student workers (G-Force Mentors) means more than simply understanding Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and knowing about the college admissions process, it means that I actively changed lives when bringing reassurance and information about college and potential financial aid opportunities. While I assisted in trainings, communications, and educating the community, I consistent observed what was needed in order to spread information and improve outreach trainings for students and provide any specific information that they may need.
In developing this training I collaborated with more than the departments at UNT, I communicated with prospective students to impact families and communities who are new to higher education and made them feel at home. In doing so I ensured to keep that mindset of delivering an impactful assistance to others when taking on my position as a team lead. I established connections with the local community of North Texas as I guided first generation and international students on the college process.
The care and attention to current and future students has been a cornerstone within my time at Admissions, ensuring a complete perspective which does not leave out anyone who is looking to pursue their education.
To ensure this I developed my trainings in three areas:
Personas
-
Connecting to each student and their needs can only be done when you have training that incorporates their specific issues
Process
-
Curating three sections of UNT calls for an intensive number of processes, protocols, and people which I catered to within training scenarios, process maps, and reviews
Privacy
-
Ensuring proper FERPA compliance with student information and communication led for more training and development for our front desk staff
Marketing/Communications
When developing internal and external marketing materials I used many online tools and platforms including: TikTok, Photoshop, Canva, and Illustrator. All social media and other content was published ot the public or used by internal teams for insight, education, or perspectives on departmental roles and student aid.

Events & Roles
Developing and maintaining a high AQ and EQ was key while serving the North Texas community as I took on many recruiting and educational events all in different capacities. I took part in event planning and coordination all while assisting with other internal projects. Communication of event information, instructional scaffolding, and other strategic developments were all developed with my assistance and integration of attitude.
